Specialty Surface Project Goes Smoothly

An automotive supplier was seeking to recreate its Japanese locations’ custom surface roads at its midwestern United States proving ground facilities. Atwell’s design specialists used furnished as-built data of the surface in Japan to finalize and validate the design of the 650-foot-long, 16-foot-wide “wavy” road, cut to 1mm accuracy, with the finished surface placed within 3mm of the design grades.

Atwell provided construction drawings, planned means and methods and QA/QC consulting; the team worked with the contractor to execute construction within three weeks.
